The World Cup winner has teased that he remains open to the possibility.
Former Germany boss Joachim Löw may not be done with football just yet.
“I still have a few good ideas for club work,” the 2014 World Cup winner confirmed in remarks captured by kicker during the November international period.
Löw left the Germany post after EURO 2020, which was played in the summer of 2021. But he answered “basically yes” to a query about whether he is ready to take on another coaching job at some point.
“So far, I haven’t been absolutely passionate about a project. If that should happen, then I’m certainly ready to do something again if I’m really interested in it and find the project exciting,” Löw went on. “But not as a coach in the Bundesliga, I’ve ruled that out. I still have a few good ideas for club work, especially for the development of young players.
“There’s room for improvement in Germany. I had many players during my time as national coach who were very well trained at 18 or 19, but somehow they didn’t develop any further. Through individual training — position-related — you could make players much better. The goal for us has to be: How do well-trained players get to the top of the world?”
If Löw ever gets back into the game, it will be intriguing to say the least.
