"I’m really proud of how the girls battled tonight. The game was extremely fast paced for 90 minutes, and it would have been easy to conform to a different style of soccer but we were able to maintain our identity throughout, stuck to our principles and were able to grind out a win," stated head coach Jo Chubb. "This win was a huge step in the direction of prolonging our season a little bit longer. These girls are an absolute joy, so to see the smiles on their faces after the game, knowing they’d played so hard for each other makes me incredibly proud. They push each other each and every day and we are seeing the results of that on the field. As always, we enjoy tonight and then we’re back to work tomorrow. Chants up!
The Chanticleers will return to the CCU Soccer Stadium on Oct. 27 to take on the Troy Trojans on Senior Day. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET and the Senior Day ceremony will begin after the conclusion of the match.
