The first-ever Women’s Kho Kho World Cup is set to be played on January 14, 2025, at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi. This tournament is a historic moment for the sport, as Kho Kho, which has its roots in India, will take center stage on a global platform.

The event will run until January 19, featuring both men’s and women’s competitions, and aims to make Kho Kho an internationally recognized sport. A total of 39 nations, including host India, will compete in this inaugural championship.
The opening ceremony on January 13 will be followed by the first men’s match, where India will face Nepal. The women’s competition has four groups, with five teams in each group, with the exception of Group A which has only four teams.

The Women’s Kho Kho World Cup 2025 will see 19 teams compete in the tournament. Let’s take a look at them group-wise:

The Women’s Kho Kho World Cup 2025 will start with a round-robin stage and then move to knockout matches. The teams are divided into four groups, each having five teams, with the exception of Group A, with just 4 teams.
During the group stage, each team will play one match against every other team in its group. After the group stage, the top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals.
From there, the tournament will follow a knockout format, where the winning teams move to the semifinals and then the finals. A single loss in the knockout stage will result in elimination.
The team that wins the final will become the first-ever Women’s Kho Kho world champions.

The matches of the Women’s Kho Kho World Cup 2025 will start at a variety of timings, ranging from 10:00 AM IST to 08:30 PM IST every day. The quarter-finals will be played from 11:45 AM IST onwards, while the semi-finals will be played from 05:45 PM IST onwards.
