ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The Winnebago Indians won their first regional championship since the 2008 season in a 3-1 victory over Marengo. Winnebago scored three total goals in under four minutes of play to help secure their victory.
This year’s team hopes to make the kind of run that the 2008 Indians did, winning the state title.
Winnebago will go on to play Aurora Central Catholic high school at Hinkley-Big Rock high school on Friday at 5 p.m.
