Alabama football announced its player attendees for SEC Media Days on Monday. The Crimson Tide will be bringing quarterback Jalen Milroe, offensive guard Tyler Booker and defensive back Malachi Moore to the event.
Each school in the league is sending three players to media days, which will be held in Dallas from July 15-18. It’s the first year that Texas and Oklahoma will be represented at the event, which will be Kalen DeBoer’s media days debut as Alabama’s head coach after he replaced Nick Saban.
Milroe, a Texas native, returns to his home state as the Tide’s starting quarterback for the 2024 season. He won the job after an extended battle last season, one that Saban mentioned during media days using an story about his grandmother’s cake-baking talents.
The quarterback threw for 2,834 yards and 23 touchdowns last season, garnering votes for the Heisman Trophy. He also chipped in on the ground, rushing for 531 yards and 12 more touchdowns.
Booker will look to anchor the Crimson Tide’s offensive line in his junior season. He was voted first-team all-SEC by the Associated Press, and second-team by the league’s coaches for his efforts in 2023.
Moore will be a key player in Alabama’s new look defense, which will be led by new coordinator Kane Wommack in 2024. He’ll be playing more of a traditional safety role than the “star” spot he inhabited last season.
He was one of the Crimson Tide’s permanent captains last season, as was Milroe.
Press conferences and other content from media days will be aired on the SEC Network throughout the week. Alabama will take its turn in the spotlight on July 17, alongside Florida, Mississippi State and Texas.
