EURO 2024
There are only three more games left to play in Euro 2024, with one of Spain, France, the Netherlands and England to be crowned new European champions at Olympiastadion in Berlin on Sunday July 14.
Spain take on France in the first of the two semifinals at Allianz Arena in Munich on Tuesday (July 9) and there have been rather different narratives surrounding the teams at the tournament so far.

Luis de la Fuente’s side weren’t seen as one of the main favourites but have arguably been the most impressive nation in Germany in terms of their overall play.
They are bidding to win the European Championship for a fourth time, which would be an outright record, but head into the last four without Dani Carvajal and Robin Le Normand, two first-choice defenders, and Barcelona’s Pedri, a starter in midfield.
France, meanwhile, have flattered to deceive, which may seem strange to say given they are still in with a choice of joining Spain and Germany on three Euros titles.
They have scored only three goals in five matches, two of which have been own goals and one via the boot of Kylian Mbappé from the penalty spot. Les Bleus’ relative success at the tournament has been based on a rock solid defence, with just one goal – a penalty against Poland – conceded.
