WHITEHALL – The Whitehall girls soccer team blanked Shelby 1-0 in their West Michigan Conference opener on Wednesday.
Kate Beda put the Vikings on the board in the first half with the game’s lone goal.
The Vikings’ defense bolstered the win by holding the Tigers to just five shots in the second half.
Whitehall will be at home on Monday for league play against Ludington.
Shelby will compete in the Oakridge Tournament on Saturday. The Tigers are set to face Grand Rapids Ottawa Hills.
