It’s Championship Week, and it begins with a cracking matchup with the No. 10 ranked Boise State Broncos battle the No. 20 UNLV Rebels on the blue turf of Boise this evening in the 2024 Mountain West Championship Game. This is one of the more intriguing matchups in the championship slate. No. 20 UNLV is 10-2, with a tough 44-41 overtime loss to Syracuse in Week 6, and a 29-25 loss to Boise State as the only smudges on their record. The Rebels, led by dual-threat quarterback Hajj-Malik Williams, face a No. 10 ranked Boise State squad that’s 11-1 with their only loss coming to the Oregon Ducks in Week 2. Since that hiccup, the Broncos have been near perfect, with running back Austin Jeanty securing his legacy as one of college football’s greatest runners in the process. Let’s face it, people have wanted a playoff for decades and Boise State’s success over the years is a big reason why. Can they get through a very good UNLV squad for a legit shot at the National Championship?
