The Indian football team are ready to host Kuwait in their 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers second round clash at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata on June 6. It will be India’s first game since that disappointing loss to Afghanistan in March and one they’ll be absolutely desperate to win.
This match will also be a special occasion as it’ll also mark Sunil Chhetri’s final match for the Blue Tigers. He has announced his decision to retire after the game and will aim to go out with a bang by sealing a big win for India. A similar number is expected for this upcoming India match, especially considering that it’ll be Chhetri’s final match for the national team. The fans will hope that the Indian team can get back to their best and pick up their second win over Kuwait in the World Cup qualifiers to have a strong chance of moving past the second round of qualifying.
