The wait is over, as Euro 2024 continues.
Over the course of a month, the 24 best teams in Europe have gathered in Germany to battle it out for the continental crown.
Established powerhouses such as England, France and Germany will be expected to make a serious challenge, while Italy‘s hopes of going back-to-back after their triumph in 2021 have been ended.
Georgia, making a major tournament debut, already produced an upset against Portugal and registered their first-ever Euro win on Matchday 3 of the group stage. But they too have fallen.
The fixtures are all set for the Euro 2024 knockout stage.
After a dramatic quarterfinals round, which saw hosts Germany and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal crash out, Euro 2024 enters its semifinal phase with matches on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Dutch have reached the Euro last four for the first time since 2004 after beating Turkey 2-1 in the quarterfinals, having finished third in their group behind France and Austria.
Spain, three-times European champions, will try to earn a shot at a record fourth title against 2022 World Cup finalists and two-time European champions France, who despite having one of the best attackers in the world in Kylian Mbappe, have only scored three goals in their five games thus far—two own goals and a penalty.
Euro 2020 finalists England have been far from convincing at the tournament to date despite the array of talent at their disposal, but they have potential match-winners who only need an instant to find a decisive moment.
The Sporting News will keep you up-to-date with all the games on the schedule each day as the action begins. Here’s the matches you can expect on Tuesday, July 9.
