The United States men’s national team will play for the second time in four days under new head coach Mauricio Pochettino on Tuesday when it faces rival Mexico in an international friendly.
Fresh off a 2-0 win over Panama on Saturday in Austin, this marks the final tuneup for the USMNT before it begins CONCACAF Nations League play in late November. USMNT star player and forward Christian Pulisic will miss the game for “load management” reasons, the U.S. Soccer Federation said Sunday, and will return to his club, AC Milan, in Italy.
Ricardo Pepi, a Texas native who scored Saturday vs. Panama, Weston McKennie, Zack Steffen and Marlon Fossey will also miss the game with minor injuries and return to their clubs in Europe.
Here’s everything to know about the game, including time, date, TV and streaming info, and more:
USA soccer’s game vs. Mexico will be broadcast on TNT and can be streamed on Max. The streaming options for USMNT games this season include a Fubo free trial as well as Sling.

This will be the 78th meeting between the two rivals with Mexico leading the series with 36 wins. The USMNT has 24 wins and there have been 17 draws. However, the USMNT has had the upper hand recently with a seven-match unbeaten streak of five wins and two losses that started in June 2021. Mexico’s last win in the series came in September 2019 in a friendly when it dominated 3-0.
Like the USMNT, Mexico also has a new coach. Javier Aguirre began his third stint leading El Tri in September when he guided it in friendlies to a 3-0 win over New Zealand and a scoreless draw with Canada.
