VERMILLION, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -How about the season the Arrows put together in the final year of Watertown Stadium. They were crowd state champions Friday night in that thrilling down to the wire win over Pierre 14-13, stopping the Governors streak of state title at 7.
Needless to say the Arrows and their coach were thrilled.
Watertown FB Coach John Hodorff says, “Yes it was a great win for us and our program. If you go back and look there’s a ton of different history things with this team and the things we accomplished with this team. This is the first Watertown team to ever win an ESD title and a state championship in the same season ever. So that’s a huge tribute to what we were able to do this year.”
The Arrows closed out this magical season in style… as state champions of Class 11-AA.
