WATCH: Wyoming Football Adds Last Names to Jerseys – 7220 Sports

LARAMIE — Jay Sawvel said after he was officially hired in December that names still weren't going on the back of jerseys, though he would implement a white-on-white uniform combination at some point.
He prefaced the entire conversation.
"I have the right to change my mind on this," he said.
That's exactly what happened.
Wyoming's social media team Thursday released a video of Sawvel showing off a brown No. 77 jersey. That belongs to starting center Nofoafia Tulafono. He flipped it around and there was no name on the back, just the Steamboat logo which became a staple of Craig Bohl's teams over the last decade.
Players jeered. Sawvel smiled.
The Cowboys' rookie head coach then turned to his left and tossed that top off camera. Another one was incoming.
That one wasn't blank.
Check out the video right here:
Would you just look at that reaction from the players? You think those guys are excited?
"I guess from the response to it that you guys kind of like this thing?" Sawvel said with a grin.
There was a similar video on X, formerly known as Twitter, just three days ago. That time Sawvel was introducing a new third uniform, one that featured a gold top with brown pants.
You can see that one right here:
I specifically asked Sawvel last Tuesday if names were on the horizon.
"There's some things that we've not crossed the bridge on," he joked. "So, we'll just leave it at that."
Wyoming will be hosting a practice Saturday in Laramie that is open to the public. The kid's clinic is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. followed by team workouts at 11. Both will take place inside the indoor practice facility.
