Pakistan team has resorted to bizarre army drills to train for T20 World Cup 2024 (Twitter)Pakistan team has resorted to bizarre army drills to train for T20 World Cup 2024 (Twitter)
Pakistan team has taken their preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup to new heights, quite literally.
A recent video that has quickly gone viral showcases team members, including stars like Naseem Shah, Mohammad Rizwan, and Iftikhar Ahmed, engaging in a rigorous military-style training regimen at the Army School of Physical Training (ASPT) in Kakul, Abbottabad.
The intense session included tasks such as sniper shooting, climbing hills while carrying rocks, a method far removed from the traditional cricket practice nets.
Under the eyes of armed forces personnel, the Pakistan cricketers were seen diving headfirst into a series of demanding exercises. From sniper shooting drills to carrying teammates through tough terrains, the Men in Green appeared to be preparing for battle rather than a cricket tournament.
This unconventional approach to boosting their physical fitness and teamwork skills has sparked a frenzy online, with fans and onlookers churning out memes and speculating wildly about the team’s readiness for covert missions rather than cricket matches.

The initiative, spearheaded by the newly appointed chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, aims to elevate the team’s fitness levels and enhance their ability to deliver powerful shots that clear the boundaries with ease.
With 29 members of the team currently undergoing this military-inspired training, the PCB is leaving no stone unturned in its quest to conquer the T20 World Cup 2024 in June.
However, this unique preparation method has not been without its critics. Concerns have been raised about the potential risks involved, especially for players with pre-existing injuries.
The rocky terrain of Abbottabad poses a real threat of accidents, with several fans and experts weighing in humorously on the matter, questioning the nature of the “mission” the Pakistani team is preparing for.
Meanwhile, as the T20 World Cup approaches, it remains to be seen how this bold move will translate into performance on the cricket field.

After Faf du Plessis called him an exciting talent during the toss, Saurav Dilipsingh Chauhan became one of the most searched names in India. The 23-year-old, born in Ahmedabad, represents Gujarat in the Indian domestic circuit.

As the much-anticipated IPL 2024 clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) about to get underway on Saturday, Sanju Samson, the RR skipper, won the toss and opted to field first at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja believes Pakistan shouldn’t trust the left-arm pacer, as he was involved in spot fixing, which led to his five-year ban from international cricket.
