Pakistan’s national cricket team recently underwent an intensive fitness camp at the Army School of Physical Training in Abbottabad. The camp aimed to prepare the players for their upcoming challenges, notably the T20 World Cup scheduled for June.
Social media buzzed with videos showcasing the cricketers undergoing rigorous army-style training, including hauling rocks while ascending hills.

Among the attendees was seasoned pacer Mohammad Amir, who recently reversed his retirement decision. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared official footage from the camp on ‘X’, featuring paceman Haris Rauf discussing his recovery from a shoulder injury. All-rounder Shadab Khan provided a light-hearted remark about the camp experience.

The training regimen included obstacle courses and team-building exercises such as assisting each other in scaling walls. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Army for their collaboration, emphasising the benefits of improved fitness and discipline for the players.
The camp aims to prime the team for the challenging journey ahead, leading to the T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA. This global tournament, scheduled from June 2 to 29, poses a significant test for Pakistan. Before the event, they are set to face New Zealand in a five-match T20I series beginning on April 18.
The highlight of the T20 World Cup anticipation is the much-anticipated group-stage clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, slated for June 9. The intense rivalry between these cricketing giants adds extra anticipation to this prestigious tournament, promising an enthralling spectacle for fans worldwide.
