The way New Zealand announced their squad took centre stage, and it has everything to do with two teenagers, Matilda and Agnus, who won hearts online. They came in front of the camera, introduced themselves, made the T20 World Cup announcement, and even asked the media for questions.

Black Caps shared the video on their official X page. The clip got 2,00,000 views, over 6,000 likes and comments to match. “They just find these amazing techniques to announce their squad. Always supporting them after India,” wrote one X user. “Last time did their wc squad announcement with player’s wives. now this. you guys are brilliant,” a second user was quick to remind the internet. “@BCCI , hope to see like this from your side soon not like the old orthodox type,” was a third user’s request.
