LAKE FOREST, Ill. — The North Park Women’s Soccer team played the Lake Forest College Foresters on Wednesday night. The Foresters, an NCAA qualifying team in 2023, used a first-half goal by Anna Gracia to beat the Vikings, 1-0.
The Foresters piled on the shots early, as 10 of the first strikes of the game were sent in by Lake Forest. The one and only score of the contest would occur in the 20th minute when Caitlin Mulcahy played a through ball up the left side to Gracia, who won a foot race in front of the box before tucking a shot inside the right post.
North totaled four shots in the contest and two on goal, both off the foot of sophomore midfielder Maja Applequist. Senior goalkeeper Emily LaSalle played a full 90 in her second start of the season, securing six saves.
