Vermont soccer has arrived at the pinnacle of the NCAA: Playing for the College Cup national championship crown.
Vermont (15-2-6) and the No. 13-seeded Marshall Thundering Herd (15-1-7) square off tonight at 8 p.m. at WakeMed Soccer Park at Cary, North Carolina. The showdown will be televised nationally on ESPN2 and streamed on ESPN+.
The Catamounts reached their first national title game following Friday night’s comeback win that took a penalty shootout to outlast No. 3 Denver. Marshall, meanwhile, stunned top-seed Ohio State with an early goal in a 1-0 triumph.
Vermont is the first America East school to advance to a national championship game in any team sport.
