The USC Trojans 2023 was one of the more disappointing in recent memory. The team finished 8-5, including their bowl game win, but they fell well short of their pre-season expectations.
Despite having one of the better quarterbacks in the country, the Trojans defense let them down once again. But their problems with consistent offense also came into play.
The program decided to revamp its coaching staff and bring in more physical players to play for the team. Head coach Lincoln Riley believes that this will help the Trojans get back to a place of contention, possibly even next season. This includes new running backs coach Anthony Jones Jr., who comes to USC from TCU.
During the Trojans’ offseason practice, Jones Jr. was fired up and said that college football is the greatest sport ever created. It was a message to the players as much as it was for himself to hype everyone up.
New USC RBs coach Anthony Jones Jr. today at practice on college football:
“It’s the greatest sport God ever created.”

This mindset is what the Trojans need as they continue their offseason work. USC is determined to get back to a place of contention and it all starts in how they build during the spring and summer.
The Trojans are a proud program, who have an entirely new feeling around them. If they can continue to work and build, they may be able to shock some people next season.
