What could be Georgia football’s most attractive home schedule is now set for the 2025 season.
It includes games between the hedges against Alabama, Texas and Ole Miss.
The SEC gave dates to opponents and sites already known on Wednesday night, so go ahead and plan your weekends for next fall.
It’s an eight-game SEC schedule again. The four nonconference games are against Marshall, Austin Peay, Charlotte and Georgia Tech.
With games against Florida in Jacksonville and the Georgia Tech game in Atlanta shifted to Mercedes-Benz Stadium, there are only three true road games: at Auburn, Tennessee and Mississippi State.
That’s much more manageable than the gauntlet of this season that sent the Bulldogs to Alabama, Texas, Ole Miss and Kentucky.
This schedule shouldn’t provide any reason for Georgia coach Kirby Smart to tee off on the conference office in Birmingham like he did when asked after beating Texas in the SEC Championship Game what it meant for the Bulldogs to clinch a first-round CFP bye.
“Well, it means rest for a team that Greg Sankey and his staff sent on the road all year long,” Smart said with the SEC commissioner standing close by during the postgame ceremony.
Kickoff times and TV assignments will be made in the months ahead.
