With just two weeks remaining in the inaugural UFL regular season, the playoff field has been set.
In a thrilling Week 8 match, the Birmingham Stallions (8-0) narrowly escaped with a 35-28 victory against the already eliminated Houston Roughnecks. Elsewhere, the St. Louis Battlehawks (6-2) wrapped up a playoff bid and the potential to host a would-be title game if they were to get there, as they protected home field with a 26-21 win against the mathematically eliminated D.C. Defenders (3-5).
Rounding out the week, the Michigan Panthers (6-2) clinched a guaranteed second-place USFL Conference finish against the Memphis Showboats (1-7) with a 24-18 win, also solidifying a berth in the conference title game. And the San Antonio Brahmas (6-2) fell into a tie for first place with the Battlehawks, earning a 20-15 win against the Arlington Renegades (1-7).
With the race officially over, the postseason is just around the corner, and Week 9 is on the horizon to close out the month of May.
