LISTEN: "Soccer Forward" is the U.S. Soccer Federation's plan to capitalize on the momentum of the U.S. co-hosting matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The U.S. Soccer Federation has fired the head coach of the U.S. Men’s National Team, Gregg Berhalter.
The news late Wednesday came after the team’s disappointing early exit from the Copa America tournament and kicks off a major shakeup for the team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
GPB’s Orlando Montoya spoke with the head of U.S. Soccer, J.T. Batson, at the network’s Atlanta studios on June 28 as Batson was in Atlanta for the Copa America tournament.
At that time, Batson was hopeful the Americans could turn around their fortunes.
However, the conversation focused on what could come out of the World Cup, eight matches of which will be played in Atlanta.
Batson had just announced a World Cup legacy project called “Soccer Forward.”
