The running back has been in trouble multiple times since joining the Huskies.
Sophomore running back Tybo Rogers has been suspended from the University of Washington football team, according to a school spokesman, adding to a series of missteps that have cost him previous past game time and put his career in great jeopardy moving forward.
In a statement, the school said Rogers recently was arrested, though it didn’t divulge details, and was gathering information and cooperating with Seattle police.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound rusher from Bakersfield, California, was suspended last August by Kalen DeBoer in fall camp and he was forced to sit out the first two games against Boise State and Tulsa. The former coach would only say that Rogers broke team training rules, adding that the then-freshman didn’t break the law or any NCAA rules.
In December, Rogers was left home when the Huskies played Oregon in the Pac-12 championship game in Las Vegas. Plenty of rumors circulated about this situation online, but the first-year player wasn’t charged by authorities with any wrongdoing. He was allowed to rejoin the UW and play in the Sugar Bowl against Texas and in the CFP championship game against Michigan.
Rogers appeared in 12 games for the Huskies in his debut season and rushed 44 times for 184 yards, with a long run of 22 yards. He also caught 6 passes for 72 yards, with a long reception of 47 yards.
