Updated: Nov 2nd, 2024

Two youngsters from Porbandar have been included in the UAE national cricket team for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League.
Porbandar’s Ashish Odedara and Jay Odedara will represent the United Arab Emirates in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League-2, making Porbandar proud.
The team will be captained by Jatinder Singh. Apart from Jay and Ashish Odedara, the team will include Amir Kaleem, Mohammad Nadeem, Sandeep Goud, Hamad Mirza, Karan Sonwale, Wasim Ali, Sufiyan Mahmud, Sakil Ahmed, Muzahir Raza, Samay Srivastava, Siddharth Bukapatnam, and Munis Ansari.
The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 is an international tournament in the One Day International (ODI) format, serving as the second tier of a three-level qualification system for the Cricket World Cup, introduced in 2019.
Seven teams compete, aiming to secure spots in either the World Cup Qualifier or the Qualifier Play-off, providing a pathway to World Cup participation. The top two teams from the Qualifier advance to the Cricket World Cup.
This league, along with the Qualifier Play-off, replaced the previous ICC World Cricket League structures for determining qualification. The first League 2 cycle spanned 2019 to 2023.
