Pam Bondi — Donald Trump’s new pick for Attorney General after Matt Gaetz withdrew amid continued fallout over a federal sex trafficking investigation — once earned $115,000 a month as a registered foreign lobbyist for the Qatari government ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The former Florida attorney general joined Ballard Partners, a lobbying firm founded by Republican Brian Ballard after finishing her second term in January 2019. Amazon, Uber, and the Qatari government were among the clients she was registered to lobby, according to Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) documents viewed by Sports Politika.
FARA, a disclosure statute dating back to 1938, imposes disclosure requirements and other legal obligations on any individual or entity that becomes an “agent of a foreign principal.”
The FARA documents disclosing Bondi’s work revealed she was tasked with "providing advice, counsel, and other assistance with respect to efforts to combat human trafficking." The document designated her as “key personnel” who “shall be personally and substantially engaged in the delivery of the Services.”
