Bayern Munich Kim Min-jae omitted from Korea's World Cup qualifier squad – Bavarian Football Works

Filed under:
The recently out of form “monster” is still injured…
One of Bayern Munich’s, arguably, best defenders recently injured himself on the pitch, creating problems for his ankle. Kim Min-jae then missed a game for the club, and is unfortunately still facing issues with his ankle.
The 27-year old Korean personally informed his national teams interim coach, Kim Do-Hoon, that he is still recovering from his injury. Min-jae’s journey to a full recovery is currently inhibiting his participation in training and games, and so he requested the coach that he be omitted from Korea’s World Cup qualifiers squad.
The center-back, nicknamed The Monster, put in some subpar performances in the second half of the season, and this ankle injury is not going to help his case for a rebound. While he is definitely one of Korea’s top players, and can change the course of a game, maybe the defender does need to sit this one out. Min-jae can take the time to recover, train, and get his performances back up at Säbener Straße before going back to being The Monster for both Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, and Korea in the World Cup.
The time they are a changin’ at Bayern Munich. Vincent Kompany looks like he is taking over in Bavaria, while the club’s former favorite son — Hansi Flick — is heading to FC Barcelona. Which one will make out better with their new club? We’ll find out, but in the meantime, there could also be some Bayern players who are on Flick’s transfer radar, too. basically, we’ve got a lot to talk about with all of that, plus some appreciation for Bayer Leverkusen’s incredible season. You can check all of that out on the Bavarians Podcast Works Show, which is available on Spotify or below:
