LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that 22 overseas players have registered for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 draft, scheduled to take place in Gwadar, Balochistan, on January 11, 2025.
Among the latest sign-ups are New Zealand cricket veterans Martin Guptill and Tim Southee, adding star power to the roster of international players. The PCB had earlier opened the registration and trade window for foreign players, and the response has been promising as excitement builds for the league’s milestone 10th edition.
The PCB also confirmed the draft pick order for the platinum category, which is as follows: Lahore Qalandars, Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, Islamabad United This order gives Lahore Qalandars, the defending champions, the first opportunity to secure a top-tier overseas player, followed by Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators.
Hosting the draft in Gwadar is seen as a symbolic move to promote cricket in underrepresented regions of Pakistan. The picturesque coastal city is expected to provide a unique backdrop for the high-profile event, showcasing the league’s growth and the PCB’s commitment to expanding cricket’s reach. The PSL has become a global platform for international players to display their talent alongside Pakistan’s best cricketers.
