Turned in his resignation Thursday for family reasons
May. 24, 2024 3:42 pm, Updated: May. 24, 2024 4:59 pm
MARION — Tim Lovell has turned in his resignation as head varsity football coach at Linn-Mar, he confirmed Friday afternoon.
Lovell led the Lions program for three seasons. He was head coach at Marion for five seasons prior to that.
He will continue to be a middle-school teacher in the Linn-Mar school district.
“I have an opportunity to be around for my daughter’s senior year at Marion,” Lovell said in a text message. “And my mom is in need of a lot of help now with my dad, who is in failing health.”
Kenzie Lovell plays volleyball and runs track at Marion, Tim Lovell said.
“It’s been an honor leading the program at Linn-Mar,” he said. “But I need to re-engage with my family for a bit and step away. I believe the program is in good hands.”
