North Jersey soccer fans can now purchase tickets to the knockout rounds of this summer’s FIFA Club World Cup, which will feature some of the world’s most famous teams battling it out at MetLife Stadium.
Presale tickets for the round of 16, quarterfinals and semifinals of the tournament went on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday and will be available until 7 a.m. Thursday. MetLife is hosting one of four quarterfinal matches, on July 5, along with both semifinal matchups on July 8 and 9.
The East Rutherford venue is also the home of the Club World Cup Final, taking place Sunday, July 13. Tickets for that match will go on sale at a later date.
To access the presale offer on Ticketmaster, enter the code “25NYNJ9.” Customers can purchase a maximum of six tickets per match.
The month-long Club World Cup features 32 club teams representing six continents. The participating teams include European standouts like Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid, while MLS clubs Seattle Sounders and Inter Miami — led by Argentine legend Lionel Messi — will play on their home soil.
MetLife will host five group stage matches in addition to the knockout round games, held every other day from June 15-23. The teams appearing in those games are Borussia Dortmund (Germany), FC Porto (Portugal), SE Palmeiras (Brazil), Al Ahly FC (Egypt), Fluminense FC (Brazil) and Ulsan HD (Korea Republic).
The FIFA Club World Cup was first held in 2000 and took place annually from 2005 to 2023. Beginning this year, the tournament will follow the model of the World Cup, which is contested among national teams, and be organized every four years.
This summer’s tournament is a precursor to next year’s FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted jointly by the United States, Canada and Mexico. MetLife Stadium will also be the site of the World Cup Final, scheduled for July 19, 2026.
