The Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Tangier and Moroccan, Spanish and Portuguese business associations held the first edition of Morocco-Spain-Portugal Afterwork under the title “Spanish-Portuguese-Moroccan relations towards 2030: a new dynamic for a shared prosperity”.
The construction of the infrastructures necessary to host the 2030 Football World Cup organised by Morocco, Spain and Portugal is one of the business and investment opportunities between entrepreneurs from the three countries.
Adil Rais, president of the Moroccan employers’ association in the region of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima and co-president of CEMAES, the joint institution of Spanish and Moroccan businessmen, said at the Morocco-Spain-Portugal Afterwork meeting under the title “Spanish-Portuguese-Moroccan relations towards 2030: A new dynamic for shared prosperity”, held on Thursday at the Barceló Hotel in Tangier, that the collaboration between businessmen of the three countries is a unique opportunity that must be channelled to achieve the greatest effectiveness for all with the coordination of the competent institutions of the three organising countries.
The Spanish ambassador to Morocco, Enrique Ojeda, and the Portuguese ambassador, Carlos Pereira, shared the same positive spirit of collaboration, highlighting the magnificent opportunity opened up by the organisation of an event that goes far beyond its sporting nature to have a great influence on the societies of all the countries.
Enrique Ojeda emphasised the Spanish Government’s total willingness to achieve the best possible cooperation to make this event an exceptional occasion for the three countries to have a great international impact.
On the recovery of the old project to build a tunnel in the Strait of Gibraltar linking Spain and Morocco, Europe and Africa, the new Spanish ambassador pointed out that the corresponding technical studies are being carried out with new technologies in order to guarantee its viability.
José Estévez, president of the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Tangier, invited businessmen to join the opportunities offered by this great sporting event, accessing all the services usually available to the Chamber for all those who undertake a business in the northern region of Morocco.
Omar Kaddaoui, president of the Regional Delegation of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Portugal Tangier-North, also had a Portuguese side.
In his speech, Ramón Fernández, president of the Club of Spanish Businessmen in Morocco, called for a new mobility and transport policy between the Iberian Peninsula and Morocco that would reduce the high costs of maritime transport.
Mobility between the three countries was the subject of debate during the colloquium.
