Iraq’s national football team secured a 1-0 victory over Oman this evening, Tuesday, in a match held at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat, as part of the sixth round of Group B qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
 
The only goal of the match was scored by national team star Youssef Amyn in the 35th minute.
 
With this win, Iraq moved up to second place in the group standings with 11 points, awaiting the result of the match between Jordan, which holds 8 points, and Kuwait. South Korea currently leads the group with 14 points.
