Before everyone enjoys Food and time with their Families on Thanksgiving Day, they can enjoy the third “F” with some Football, and no I’m not talking about today’s three NFL games.
The annual Cape Cod Thanksgiving high school football games are back as teams look to end their seasons with wins. Here are the results from the six games.
Sandwich 48, Mashpee 0: In preparation for their Division 7 Super Bowl game next week, the Falcons (9-3) decided to rest their starters against the Blue Knights (9-2) in the annual Cranberry Friendship Bowl.
Andrew Miranda and Adam Ferreira led the way with two rushing touchdowns each, while Damien King, Owen McElroy and Branden Clark-Kelly also found the end zone on the ground for Sandwich.
Upper Cape 22, Cape Tech 13: Amari Williams scored a hat trick of two rushing touchdowns, and added a couple of two-point conversions, to lead the Rams (6-5) to a victory over the Crusaders (2-7). Anthony Bartlett had a 60-yard rushing score for Cape Tech.
Barnstable 34, Falmouth 0: The Red Hawks (7-4) shut out the Clippers (2-7) behind three touchdowns (two rush, one receiving) from Kyle Coffin.
Brady Kundel threw an 18-yard score to Coffin, Karon Ford ran in for a five-yard score, and Dylan Hamilton added a 22-yard rushing score for Barnstable.
Dennis-Yarmouth 35, Nauset 6: The Dolphins (8-3) recorded their fifth straight win over the Warriors (7-4) in the annual Chowder Bowl game.
Jayden Barber went 9-for-14 for 130 yards and two touchdowns, and added 10 rushes for 55 yards and a score. Barber also had a 70-yard TD reception. Walter Mayo caught four receptions for 56 yards and two touchdowns, and also had a 24-yard rush. Peyton Kellett hauled in three catches for 46 yards.
The play of the game came when Dolphins’ offensive lineman Emelson Ysnardin scored a 40-yard touchdown. Isaiah Robinson scored from seven yards out for Nauset.
Monomoy 32, St. John Paul II 0: The Sharks (5-6) won three of their last four games of the season as they beat the Lions (4-5).
Bourne 47, Wareham 6: The Canalmen (7-4) ended the season with a statement win.
