Striker Francesco Pio Esposito could join up with the Inter Milan squad for the Club World Cup this summer.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Il Giorno, via FCInterNews.
At the moment, teenage Inter striker Pio Esposito is on loan at Spezia.
This is the second season that the 19-year-old has been on loan with the Ligurian club in Serie B.
And Pio Esposito’s form has really exploded this campaign.
Therefore, there is a feeling that, one way or the other, he will be playing in Serie A next season. Whether that is by helping Spezia to promotion, or joining a different club on loan.
But in the meantime, Il Giorno reports, Pio Esposito could get his chance in the Inter squad.
The reason for this would be the impending Club World Cup.
The timing of the Club World Cup means that some Inter players’ contracts will expire midway through the competition, at the end of June.
Among these would be strikers Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa.
Therefore, Inter could find themselves light in attack with Arnautovic and Correa departing before the knockout phase.
As such, Il Giorno report, the Nerazzurri could bring in Pio Esposito to bolster their attacking depth.
