United States delivered an offensive clinic at the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2024.
In the Round of 16, the six-time champions shattered the competition’s single-game team assists record for the third consecutive game, dishing out 49 assists in a dominant 141-45 victory over the Philippines.
Their 141 points marked the second-highest total in U17 World Cup history, just behind their own record-setting 146 points in the previous game against China (146-62).
Throughout the tournament’s history, Team USA has now scored 120 points or more on ten occasions, including a 124-point display in their second group game against Guinea in Istanbul.
Meanwhile, Gilas Pilipinas suffered their most significant defeat ever in the U17 World Cup.
Carlos Boozer’s twin sons, Cameron and Cayden, combined for 32 points in this historic game. The two-time NBA All-Star (2007, 2008) was in attendance to watch his sons play.
