Suzie Bates and Eden Carson are heading home — with some pretty special luggage in tow.
The Otago duo and their White Ferns team-mates are hitting the road on a trophy tour to celebrate the team’s ICC T20 World Cup win.
The tour starts at Dunedin’s Forsyth Barr Stadium on Saturday at 11am, and runs until 1pm.
The White Ferns will also visit schools and cricket clubs on the tour.
New Zealand Cricket general manager marketing communications Stacey Geraghty said the tour would be a fantastic opportunity for the team to connect with the public and celebrate being crowned world champions.
“The World Cup win is, without a doubt, a watershed moment for women’s cricket in this country and we’re determined to make the most of it,” Ms Geraghty said.
“We’re expecting the public to get out in force to celebrate with the team.”
The trophy heads to Timaru and Christchurch on Sunday before making its way north. The tour finishes in Auckland on November 10.
