In the history of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Indian batsmen have left their mark with their performances.
Topping the list is none other than Virat Kohli. With 1141 runs under his name, Kohli’s bat has spoken volumes across 27 matches. What’s remarkable is his consistency – he has an average of 81.50 and a strike rate of 131.30. He has scored 14 half-centuries in the tournament, a feat unmatched by any other Indian player.

Following closely behind is the captain of the Indian team, Rohit Sharma. He made his T20I debut in the inaugural edition of the tournament in 2007.
He has scored 963 runs in 39 matches. One of Sharma’s standout innings came against Australia in 2010 when he smashed an unbeaten 79 off just 46 balls, although it ended in a losing cause.
Yuvraj Singh, the brilliant timer of the ball, occupies the third spot on the list. He has scored 593 runs in 31 matches, with a strike rate of 128.91. Yuvraj played a pivoted role in getting India to win the first-ever T20 World Cup in 2007, where he got the man-of-the-match tournament award.

The list also contains legendary MS Dhoni and Gautam Gambhir. Dhoni, the captain who led India to victory in the 2007 edition, contributed 529 runs in 33 matches.
On the other hand, Gambhir has scored 524 runs in 21 matches. During the 2007 T20 World Cup final, he played the most crucial role in India’s batting innings, scoring 75 off 54 balls, at the time when India was struggling in the game.

The contributions of these men have not only lifted Indian cricket but also set benchmarks for young players in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
