Tottenham Hotspur Women’s on-loan midfielder Grace Clinton made history in October as the first Spurs Women player to be called up to represent England at the senior level. Today, she was called up again to Sarina Wiegman’s Lionesses squad for two upcoming EURO qualifying matches against France in late May and early June.
But that’s not all — Tottenham foward Jessica Naz was named as an alternate as well!
A squad of 28 players has been named for our decisive #WEURO2025 qualifiers this summer!
Of course, Clinton will technically be a Manchester United player by the time these matches take place, but I’m still thrilled for both of them. The England squad is difficult to crack — even Beth England hasn’t been called up since the World Cup, and Grace has been outstanding this year, fully deserving her call. Also, Naz even getting on Wiegman’s radar as an alternate feels like a real affirmation of the fantastic season she’s had with Spurs.
The Lionesses play two matches against France in Group A of Euro qualifiers, hosting the World Cup quarterfinalists at Newcastle’s St. James’ Park on May 31 before the return fixture at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in Saint-Étienne on June 4.
