Vanderbilt football pre-summer position previews: Find them all here – 247Sports

With spring coming to an end and summer workouts getting started, Vanderbilt football finally has a complete roster to work with. The Commodores aren’t expected to add more players through the NCAA transfer portal, so the focus now shifts toward team development ahead of the start of fall camp in late July.
A lack of production on offense this spring appeared to manifest itself in the form of aggressive pursuit of transfers at wide receiver and offensive line during the month of May. Thanks to NIL resources that have improved by leaps and bounds over the past year, Vanderbilt added a handful of players at positions of need after spring ball ended.
Throughout May, 247Sports took a look at where things stand at each position group coming out of spring practice and heading into summer workouts. These previews included outlooks for each room while taking into account transfers who joined the team after spring ball ended.
Here is a landing page for each of those position previews as well as the updated depth chart projection, all in one place for convenience. These articles are available only to VIP subscribers; new members can sign up HERE and get 30% off their first year of an annual subscription.
DEPTH CHART PROJECTION: Updated with all of Vanderbilt’s latest transfer additions.
QUARTERBACK: Diego Pavia, Nate Johnson to battle for the starting job during fall camp. But who holds the edge?
RUNNING BACK: This young room projects as a timeshare situation, and there are more questions than answers.
WIDE RECEIVER: Completely remade from last season via transfer portal comings and goings, this room needs to step up.
TIGHT END: Vanderbilt will rely heavily on this position group, and it might be up to the task — especially after a big addition this spring.
OFFENSIVE LINE: This position poses the most questions of them all, but it might be the most important to team success.
DEFENSIVE LINE: The combination of internal development and reinforcements via the transfer portal make this a unit to watch.
LINEBACKER: Clearly the top position group on the team, linebackers won’t be a question. Can any of them push for All-SEC honors?
CORNERBACK: The ‘Dores needed to revamp this group, and they did so. Still, lots of questions remain — both regarding personnel and play style.
SAFETY: Right there with the linebackers as Vanderbilt’s best position groups, this could be a stingy unit.
Keep reading Vandy247 all summer long for updates and intel on who’s standing out during summer workouts.
