SPOKANE, Wash. — The City of Spokane has been named a host site one of nine fan zones across the state for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Seattle FIFA World Cup 26 Local Organizing Committee announced Spokane as one of the nine sites to host the fan zones. Fan zones typically feature live entertainment, interactive fan activations, food and beverage and more.
“We’re getting to watch as our players grow and expand in the world of soccer and we also get to watch them see the players who play in the World Cup,” said Reilly Harnetiaux with USL Spokane. “We have begun to really expand and explain and show the Spokane community what the soccer community looks like and this is really the cherry on top.”
A specific location for the fan zone in Spokane has not been announced yet.
Here is a list of all the fan zones across Washington state, not including the Seattle Fan Celebration at the Seattle Center.
“Spokane is thrilled to be a designated SeattleFWC26 fan zone!” Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown said. “This global soccer celebration will unite our local and regional community and showcase our city’s passion for this game. We cannot wait to welcome fans to experience the spirit of Spokane.”
Spokane was also listed as a proposed Team Base Camp for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
A Team Base Camp acts as a home away from home for teams in the tournament, working as a main place for teams to train, rest and prepare for games during the group stage.
If Spokane were to be named a Team Base Camp, the teams assigned to Spokane’s Team Base Camp would train at Gonzaga University. A hotel has not been determined yet.
