Soccer Game Preview: West Stanly vs. Central Academy – MaxPreps

West Stanly is 1-8-1 against Central Academy since April of 2018 but they’ll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The West Stanly Colts will head out on the road to challenge the Central Academy Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
After failing to score in their last contest, West Stanly made sure to put some goals up on the board against Piedmont on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged the Panthers out 4-3. Raygan Gainey was a massive factor in the win, as she booted in three goals all by herself.
Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Central Academy made sure to put some goals up on the board against Monroe on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Redhawks a 4-0 shutout.
Central Academy used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Monroe. And. Brooke Deblasio made the most of the opportunity, putting up an assist. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.
West Stanly has been performing well recently as they’ve won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3-2 record this season. As for Central Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8-1.
Everything went West Stanly’s way against Central Academy when the teams last played back in March as West Stanly made off with a 5-1 win.
