Belgian Kim Meylemans in second place ahead of Nicole Silveira from Brazil
St. Moritz (RWH) With a season’s track record to her second victory of the season and the overall World Cup lead: skeleton athlete Janine Flock of Austria is the winner of the IBSF World Cup in St. Moritz (SUI). With the best time (1:09.09 minutes) in the second run, the three-time European Champion secured her second victory in the pre-Olympic winter at the Olympia Bobrun St. Moritz-Celerina.
Second place in St. Moritz went to the reigning European Champion Kim Meylemans of Belgium (0.18 seconds back), who celebrated her third podium finish this winter. Nicole Silveira of Brazil, who finished third (0.27 seconds back), was on the podium for the second time since the opening World Cup in PyeongChang (KOR) in November 2024.
With Tabitha Stoecker (GBR), Kimberley Bos (NED) and Jacqueline Pfeifer (GER) on ranks four to six, athletes from six nations made it into the top six in St. Moritz.
US athlete Kelly Curtis celebrated her best result in the IBSF World Cup since her comeback after the birth of her first child in St. Moritz. The bronze medallist at the Lake Placid World Cup in December 2022 finished seventh at the Olympia Bobrun.
In the overall standings for the IBSF World Cup 2024/25, Janine Flock (AUT, 1390 points), overall World Cup winner in 2015 and 2021, took the lead ahead of the final in Lillehammer (NOR) in February. Former leader, Olympic Champion Hannah Neise (GER, 1300) is now second overall, after finishing 14th in St. Moritz. Kimberley Bos (NED, 1273) is ranked third after seven of eight IBSF World Cup 2024/25 races.
