The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has finally announced its 15-member squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup.
The most notable inclusion is of the middle-order batter Mahmudullah, who wasn’t picked for the last T20 World Cup 2022. The squad also includes Shakib Al Hasan, who recently played two T20Is against Zimbabwe at Mirpur, where he scored 1 and 21, and had bowling figures of 1/35 and 0/9.
Taskin Ahmed is also one of the 15 selected to represent Bangladesh in the Caribbean and the United States of America despite being injured during the Zimbabwe series. He has also been named Vice Captain of the side and will still require a few weeks to be fully fit before the tournament.
However, Taskin has been in good form and was named Player of the Series for his eight wickets in four games.

Along with Taskin, Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam are the other front-line pacers in the side, along with bowling allrounder Tanzid Shakib. Mahedi Hasan, Tanvir Islam, and Rishad Hossain are the spinners of the side, along with Shakib.
Bangladesh would look for a strong performance in the World Cup starting next month. They had a lacklustre show at the ODI World Cup last year in India, and the timed-out controversy against Angelo Matthews further marred their campaign.
Bangladesh squad: Najmul Hossain Shanto (c), Taskin Ahmed (vc), Litton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Tanzid Hasan, Shakib Al Hasan, Towhid Hridoy, Mahmudullah, Jaker Ali, Tanvir Islam, Mahedi Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam, Tanzim Hasan
Reserves: Hasan Mahmud, Afif Hossain
