His Majesty Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, revealed on Wednesday the formation of the “Supreme Committee for the 2034 World Cup Hosting.”
This development came shortly after FIFA announced that Saudi Arabia would be the venue for the 2034 FIFA World Cup™.
The Crown Prince will preside over the Supreme Committee’s Board of Directors. Serving alongside him are notable figures including the Minister of Sport Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, and other key ministers such as the Minister of Culture, Minister of State and members of the Economic and Development Council, as well as leading figures from various sectors such as transport, finance, health, tourism, and technology.
The creation of this committee underscores Saudi Arabia’s pledge to host an unparalleled rendition of the grandest spectacle in football, marking the first time the event will feature 48 teams from across the globe.
This effort is a testament to the immense support and focus given to the sporting sector by the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince himself.
