Rutgers football to play multiple Friday night games in 2024, including 1 (very) late kickoff – NJ.com

Rutgers football will face a pair of the Big Ten’s newest members under Friday night lights next season.
The Big Ten and Fox on Wednesday announced their slate of Friday night games this fall, and the Scarlet Knights are involved in two matchups: their conference opener against Washington will kickoff at 8 p.m. on September 27th and their first-ever meeting with USC in Los Angeles will start at 11 p.m. on October 25th.
These are the first two kickoff times released on Rutgers’ schedule, with the other 10 matchups still to be determined.
The Scarlet Knights will host the Huskies on a Friday night for a second consecutive time; their only other meeting in Piscataway came on a Friday night to open the 2017 season. This fall’s matchup will be the annual blackout game at SHI Stadium, the program announced Wednesday.
It will mark Rutgers’ first game on FOX since it faced Michigan State in November of the 2018 season.
Rutgers has never faced USC. Their inaugural contest will be played directly after Game 1 of the 2024 World Series.
