CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Rossview High midfielder Graham Duncan has been named the Tennessee Soccer Gatorade Player of the Year following the 2023-24 campaign. Duncan becomes the first soccer player from Clarksville to win the coveted award.
Following the announcement, Clarksville Now spoke with Duncan on what the recognition means to him.
“It means everything to me. It was a goal I set for myself at the beginning of the season and now having accomplished it is surreal,” Duncan said. “It wouldn’t have been possible without Coach Ramsey’s help along with all of the other coaches and special thanks to my teammates who made this all happen.”
The University of Memphis men’s soccer signee had a fantastic season for the Hawks, tallying 48 goals, which included 10 hat tricks, and two six goal scoring games. He also had 8 assists during the season. Rossview High head coach Seth Ramsey couldn’t be prouder of Duncan for earning this honor.
“Graham is just a special player,” Ramsey said. “He can change a game for you in an instant with his vision and technical ability. He is fully deserving of this honor, and it is a testament to the countless hours of work he has put in to become such a great player. I am incredibly proud of him, and I am really looking forward to seeing what he does at the next level.”
A three-time all-state selection, Duncan also got it done in the classroom, earning a 3.73 GPA. Now, Duncan will turn his attention to college soccer, where he will suit up in the tiger stripes for Memphis and continue his stellar career in the fall.
