Roquan Smith, a native of Montezuma, Georgia, signed with Georgia over a litany of offers that included UCLA, Texas A&M and more, per 247Sports.
Roquan Smith was a four-star linebacker at Macon County high school in Montezuma, Georgia. He ranked as high as the No. 2 outside linebacker in the country, the No. 29 overall player in the country and the No. 5 player in Georgia in the class of 2015. In his senior season, he was named the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s and the Georgia Sports Writers Association’s Class AA Defensive Player of the Year after leading his school to a 9-3 record and the Class AA playoffs. Smith concluded his career with the Under Armour All-America Game.
Smith and Georgia finished 31-10 in his three seasons with the Bulldogs, advancing to the College Football Playoff title game in his final season.
