During Friday’s draw, the Polish national team learned about their rivals in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The Poles will play in Group G and face the loser of the Spain vs Holland match, as well as Finland, Lithuania and Malta.
The 54 teams participating in the qualifiers have been drawn into twelve groups of four and five teams. The five-team groups will start in March, and the four-team groups in September 2025. The qualifiers will conclude in November 2025.
The winners of the groups will advance directly to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in the USA, Canada and Mexico. Twelve runners-ups will compete for the remaining four spots, along with the four highest-ranked teams in the 2024/2025 UEFA Nations League who did not finish first or second in their respective qualification groups. The play-offs will be played in March 2026.
