Citing sources, David Ornstein of The Athletic reported that Klopp reiterated that he would like a break from soccer, though there is still interest from U.S. Soccer.
Klopp announced in January that he was leaving Liverpool after almost nine seasons as manager. He said he loved everything about the club, but he was running out of energy.
“I know that I cannot do the job again and again and again and again,” he said.
Under Klopp, Liverpool won the 2020 Premier League title — its first in 30 years — and won the 2019 UEFA Champions League title — its first since 2005 — as well as the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup (both in 2019), FA Cup (2022) and Carabao Cup (2022 and 2024).

It’s not that desirable of a position if you’re interested in more than just running the USMNT. Short contract, high expectations. Unless Klopp wanted to relocate to the US at some point, it was going to be a poor match.
Besides name recognition, has any American soccer journalist really delved into what are Certain weaknesses and strengths of Klopp’s in coaching a NT as pertaining to the soccer caliber of our American players….Name recognition has nothing to do with what we need in the first instance
