The fall season has come to an end, and it’s time for readers to pick their football player of the year.
Of the 18 programs in our coverage area, 10 GHSA and two GIAA teams made it to the postseason, but only one came out the other side unscathed and glowing gold. North Oconee defeated Marist 14-7 to win their first state championship, while Jefferson and Prince Avenue Christian were eliminated in the title games by Calhoun and Hebron Christian.
Below are the nominees for the football postseason all-area team. Each had an outstanding year, continuing to prove why Northeast Georgia ball is special.
The poll will be open until Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 5 p.m.
