The fall season has come to an end, and it’s time for readers to pick their flag football player of the year.
Of the nine area teams, five made it to the postseason. North Oconee went to the state championship, while Oconee County, Jackson County and Clarke Central were eliminated in the second round. Athens Academy was eliminated in the first round and East Jackson, Apalachee, Winder-Barrow and Cedar Shoals did not receive bids.
Below are the coach-selected nominees for the flag football postseason all-area team. Each had an outstanding year, growing the game of flag football in the Athens-area tenfold.
